Web-based User Interface
Talon® is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution. This means that there is no software installation or maintenance. SaaS offers many benefits, such as, global availability, Internet based access 24 hours a day, and instant availability of product enhancements.
An individual must have an EagleEye Analytics issued user ID and personalized password to log on to Talon. To access the Analysis Workbench the user ID must also have application rights otherwise the Analysis Workbench option will not display.
Data Definition Functions
A Data Definition identifies the columns and rows from the source table to be used by the Talon engine for analysis, i.e., the training variables; as well as, the data elements to be available in the Talon Viewer for drill-down. Multiple Data Definition objects may be defined to allow users to experiment with different sets of training variables, value categories, row filters, etc. to obtain the best segmentation results.
Analysis Configuration Functions
An Analysis Settings specifies the parameters to be used for analyses. Analysis parameters include the type of analysis, data sampling criteria for analysis and validation, segmentation credibility criteria, and result output options. Multiple Analysis Settings are defined to allow users to experiment with different combinations of analysis types, data sampling techniques and credibility settings.
Analysis Results
Many analyses will be run in the course of a project and many projects using Talon will be performed over time within an organization’s business area. The analysis workbench maintains history of all analysis runs regardless of the status (failed, complete, or published to the Talon Viewer).
The results of an analysis may be viewed at a summary, or segment level containing, Segment Definitions, and Segment Statistics such as total exposure, policy count, claim count, profit per exposure, claim frequency, loss ratio, average claim severity, average premium, and total loss amount.
